Dr. Dawn S. Wilhite has been serving patients in the Mooresville community since 1999. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 1995 with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. She also completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville in 1998. In addition, Dr. Wilhite received an award from the American Association of Women Dentists for academic excellence and outstanding leadership. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, as well as several local and state dental societies.

Dr. Wilhite has lived all over the world since her father was in the Navy.  However, she attended high school in Orange Park, Florida, and graduated college from the University of Florida, in Gainsville.  Dr. Wilhite and her husband, Dr. Michael Wilhite, met in dental school, and moved to Mooresville, NC to open their practices.  Dr. Michael Wilhite has a general dental practice in Davidson, NC.  Dr. Wilhite and her husband now live in Mt. Ulla, and are the proud parents of two daughters, Hannah and Kaleigh.

Children and education are very important to Dr. Wilhite. She is proud to be able to give back to her community. Dawn S. Wilhite, DMD, PA sponsors many school clubs and activities including Band Boosters, Silent Auctions, athletic clubs and many more. Dr. Wilhite “Certificates for Treatment” are given for auction each year to help raise money for schools, as well as the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center.

Dr. Wilhite is committed to helping children accomplish their goals whatever they may be. Local high school students often do internships in her practice to gain more knowledge about orthodontics as well as to receive school credit hours.

When not busy helping to improve the smiles of her patients, Dr. Wilhite enjoys spending time with her family as well as traveling, snow skiing and scuba diving.
