At Dr. Wilhite’s office we take great pride in the reputation we have established in our community as the office that provides excellent orthodontic care. It is our goal not only to provide remarkable smiles but for our patients to enjoy coming to our office as well. This means we must create an efficient and caring environment for our patients. For us to continue providing this quality care for our patients, it is very important that our patients and their parents understand how we schedule our appointments.

Knowing that our patients are very involved in school, sports, work etc., we have worked very hard to develop a schedule that is fair to everyone. Our schedule is set up to accommodate short, routine office visits, and appliance checks in the afternoon or after school. This allows patients to have the majority of their orthodontic treatment provided during these peak-time hours without missing important classes or activities. Longer appointments and repair appointments will be scheduled during the hours of 8:30 am and 12:30 pm. The average appointment interval being 6-8 weeks usually results in patients only having to visit our office during school hours 2-3 times per school year.

In case of an emergency, please call first so that we may offer you an appointment time. If you drop by without an appointment, we may be out of the office or in a staff meeting and unable to handle your problem. An emergency consists of anything poking or scratching or cutting the cheeks or gums that cannot be taken care of with wax. Please contact us if you have a loose bracket. We have created this schedule to be fair to everyone and we would appreciate your help in working with our appointment coordinators.

As a courtesy to our patients we do have an automated system that calls to remind you of your appointment. Please keep in mind however that if the power goes out, or in case of computer failure, you may not receive a call. For this reason, it is important that you keep up with your appointments. If you should miss an appointment the automated system will also call you to remind you to reschedule. Please remember that if you miss or cancel an appointment during “peak time” hours, you may not be able to reschedule at those times.

To ensure that you never miss an appointment or reminder call we have added an additional service. You are now able to view your appointments and appointment history online at anytime. You can also receive email and/or text message appointment reminders. Please ask our staff how we can set you up to receive these new services!

If an orthodontic emergency occurs which requires an after-hours office visit, there will be a $50 after-hours fee applied to your account that is due within 30 days of the visit.
